Give a date
What day is it today?
Ah, very good question indeed!
C'est le 1er janvier
It's the first of January.
To give a date in French, you just need C'est le... or le.
C'est le 31 avril.
It's the 31st of April.
Mon anniversaire c'est le 9 décembre.
My birthday is on the 9th of December.
Aujourd'hui c'est le 12 février.
Today is the 12th of February.
Je pars le 27 septembre.
I leave on the 27th of September.
Tu es née le 30 juillet.
You were born on the 30th of July.
When you give a date in French, say:
le premier janvier
Do NOT say:
le un janvier
But:
le deux janvier
le trois janvier
le quatre janvier
...
le trente-et-un janvier
Have you noticed that days of the week and months do not take a capital letter in French?
