When you go somewhere, you’re going TO a place. It’s the same with objects: when you lend an object, that object is going somewhere, it’s going TO the other person.
You lend something = it goes away, it’s headed somewhere → lend TO.
When you talk about the place where you started your journey, you say you come FROM a place. When you borrow an object, it comes to you FROM someone.
