To guide is to give constant help/suggestions over a longer period of time. You are giving them direction, and helping them through a series of decisions.
Advice is more of a one time bit of spoken help. To offer an opinion which you think should be followed. "What I would do in your situation is..."
Encouragement has a more positive and supportive energy to it. To mentally support, to motivate, to give courage, hope or spirit.
"I would advise him to stop smoking"
"I would encourage him to stop smoking"
"I will give you guidance on how to stop smoking."
