The "Pan-American Highway" is actually a network of highways connecting the entire American continent from North to South. Hence the name, "pan-" = all.

These connected highways measure about 30,000 kilometers (19,000 miles).

The road ends in Yaviza and from there begins the jungle that separates Panama and Colombia.

The Incas built a route that led from Quito (🇪🇨) to Santiago (🇨🇱), that covered some 15,000 kilometers.

The project began in 1923, at the 5th International Conference of the American States: "At that time a diplomatic, political and cultural movement known as "Pan-Americanism" was beginning, which advocated integration and cooperation among all the countries of the American continent."

Choose the means of transportation → How are you going to do the route? By car, by bus, by bike, by public transport?

3. Plan each stage well → take into account: your budget 💸 , the duration of the trip 🗓️, the accommodations 🛏️, etc. 4. Do not start or finish the route in the winter months → in both Alaska and Ushuaia the risk of snow is very high, so avoid passing through these areas in winter (remember they are in different hemispheres!).
