AFTERTASTE
The taste that lingers in the mouth or which is left on the palate after a wine is tasted or spit.
BOUQUET
Complex aromas that are perceived in wine after it has been bottled and aged.
DECANTING
The process of slowly and carefully pouring the wine from its bottle into another container.
EARTHY
Used to describe both positive and negative attribute of wine. Use this word to describe an unpleasant and drying finish of the wine. On the positive side this means a wine with aroma and flavor resembling earth.
FERMENTATION
The process of converting grape sugars into alcohol by yeast.
LEGS
The sticky droplets that are formed and ease down on the sides of the glass when the wine is swirled.
ROBUST
Full-bodied and intense wine.
STEELY
Used to describe wines that are prominent in acidity. Such wines can be served as an aperitif or to balance with food that contains high-fat content like creamy cheeses.
VINTAGE
It refers to the year the grapes were harvest and the wine was bottled. Vintage wines are famous for being made from an outstanding yield of grapes, the older is the vintage year the better is the wine.
YOUNG
an immature wine that is usually bottled and sold within a year of its production. Young wines are noted for their crisp flavors.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Dark fruit flavors of blackcurrant (cassis), black cherry, blackberry with notes of green bell pepper, spice, tobacco, wood, and vanilla (from aging in oak barrels).
CHARDONNAY
Chardonnay is a dry, medium- to full-bodied wine with moderate acidity and alcohol. Its flavors range from apple and lemon to papaya and pineapple, and it also shows notes of vanilla when it's aged with oak.
PINOT NOIR
Dry, light- to medium-bodied, with bright acidity, silky tannins and alcohol that ranges between 12–15%. The best Pinot Noir taste has complex flavors that include cherry, raspberry, mushroom and forest floor, plus vanilla and baking spice when aged in French oak.
SAUVIGNON BLANC
Fruit flavors such as white peach, grapefruit, lime, pear, passion fruit, and other tropical fruit. Herbaceous hints of cut grass, lemongrass, and tarragon. Spicy notes of green bell pepper, jalapeño, vanilla, nutmeg, and clove.
SYRAH
From smoke, bacon, herbs, red and black fruits, white and black pepper, to floral violet notes. When aged in oak, Syrah takes on flavors of vanilla and baking spice. In general, Syrah will be more elegant, lean and savory than its powerful, fruit-driven cousin Shiraz.
