Preparation is the key to success.
1. Ask intriguing, thought-provoking questions.
intriguing: very interesting because of being unusual or mysterious
Why is it that....?
Have you ever thought about...?
Would you rather.... or...?
rhetorical questions: don't require an answer
2. Use metaphors.
metaphor: used to make a comparison between two things that aren't alike but do have something in common
"You are the sunshine of my life!"
"Time is money."
"Procrastination is the thief of time."
3. Give vivid explanations or descriptions.
vivid: give strong, clear images in the mind.
Simple Description:
I was so scared.
Vivid Description:
My hands were sweaty. I know I was breathing but it felt like I had stopped momentarily. I looked around and saw everyone staring at me. I'm not sure how I got my feet to move me to the stage.
